The Old Stables is a great plaee to base yourself whether you want a quiet time on the beach; visiting the many local attractions or having a more adventurous time out and about.
Visit Greenway, the home of Agatha Christie which has just opened its doors to the public after a massive restoration project. There is a boat from Dartmouth that will take you right there. Or ride the steam railway on a Round Robin trip. It is a day-long circular tour that runs through enchanting landscape between Paignton, Kingswear, Dartmouth and Totnes, and back to your embarkation point.
Want fun on the wonderful River Dart, then take a Canoe Adventure, or learn to sail at one of the sailing schools based in Dartmouth. Take a Picnic Trip up the river, or something more adventurous around the coast.
For all family all weather fun visit Woodlands Adventure Park, it has an excellent variety of indoor/outdoor playzones for all ages and is just a short 10 minute drive away.
Take a day out and visit the Zoo and Living Coast in Paignton. Or something further afield, visit the Eden Project in Cornwall.
